Tim is a serial entrepreneur, allrounder and marketing expert with vast experience in venture development as well as building and managing high performing teams. He is passionate about identifying high potential people with innovative business ideas in coaching them to be the best they can be to unlock the potential and create successful ventures.
At the age of 17, still in high school Tim founded his first business together with a school friend who was a talented designer. What started as a school magazine, became a communication agency and design studio, doing corporate designs, brochures, and ad campaign. He sold the business to his friend to focus on further professional training.
Following his training as an events marketing specialist at Germany’s leading agency, Tim worked freelance parallel to Uni. Ever so passionate about fast-paced business he quit Uni to join LIGAOVA, now a leading brand retail company as a partner and shareholder. After he exited he acquired shares of FAIR Group a suffering “Messebauer” to lead the turnaround and failed to accomplish.
In 2004 Tim was asked by Red Bull to lead their German Sport, Events and Culture Marketing division. Putting on major events like Red Bull Music Academy, Airrace or Flugtag for hundreds of thousands of people, managing the athlete portfolio and creating cutting-edge projects. After a short sabbatical, Tim advanced as Director Marketing in the UK. His accomplishments include leading the UK marketing team through a major change and turning around the negative consumer trend, bringing the brand back on track. His most recent role was with the European leadership team overseeing all Marketing across 18 European countries, including the UK, Germany, and Russia.
In 2012 he left Red Bull to pursue another Venture launching a new retail concept store and educational platform in the fast-growing Selfness-market. Underestimating the complexity of sourcing and of creating the right product portfolio (Sortiment), badly funded and failing to build the right team, Tim decided to cut losses and fold the business.
In 2014 Tim joined Zeitgeist Ventures, a new breed of Venture Capital firm which focuses solely on early-stage investments and the development of high potential ventures. Zeitgeist Ventures is a one-of-a-kind platform which takes an active role in all development stages of the venture, including conducting feasibility studies, developing viable and sustainable business models and investing capital to support growth.
Tim co-founded Zeitgeist Ventures together with his business partner, Mr Christoph Sonnen, who is a serial entrepreneur and seasoned venture capitalist with vast experience within venture development and early-stage investments, making him the perfect partner.
Tim is as a serial entrepreneur with vast experience in International Marketing and Venture Development, coupled with being a coach for personal development and years of experience in managing change to build high performing teams.
